adox-chs-20-ii-135-36
ADOX CMS 20 II Pro B&W Negative Film 135-36 (35mm)
No film is sharper, is more fine-grained, or resolves more line pairs per mm (up to 800 lp/mm at high contrast). When used imagewise in ADOX ADOTECH IV developer, usable sensitivity up to EI 20/14°. Almost grain-free enlargements up to 2.50 meters diagonal from 35mm film or arithmetically over 500 megapixel resolution.
Cubic silver grains cast in a single, finest grain size in just an ultra-thin layer. The AHU anti-halo layer (antihalation layer) between the emulsion and the base guarantees maximum sharpness.
ADOTECH IV Developer brings very good reproduction to this otherwise hard-working material and you get pictures you wouldn't believe came from the 35mm negative.
In normal standard developers, the sensitivity of the CMS 20 II increases up to EI 80/20° and the contrast becomes ultra-hard. The film can thus be used as a documentary film. Although other technical developers can be used, the results are less than satisfactory compared to ADOTECH IV. The sensitivity then varies between EI 6/9° and 80/20° and the density curve breaks out.

The ADOX CMS 20 II has an orthopanchromatic sensitization with a spectral sensitivity distribution that finely differentiates between the gray tones. The CMS 20 II "sees everything". No green filter is necessary for portrait shots. Once you have enlarged images from the CMS 20 II, you will never want anything less - unless you have to because you absolutely need the sensitivity. There is a widespread misconception that you cannot work with EI 20/14° without a tripod. If you use this film, you are shooting in daylight, because low-light interiors do not offer enough subject detail and contrast to use the film sensibly. If you want to take full advantage of this film, you need a high-performance lens with an initial aperture of at least 2.0, preferably 1.4. This has its optimum performance at aperture 4 or 5.6. A normal, overcast winter day, at least an hour after sunrise and up to an hour before sunset, outdoors (not in the shade), usually already provides a shutter speed of 1/125 second to 1/250 second at f/4 . Thus, the film can be fully used for almost all landscape motifs, architectural shots or portraits from the hand and outdoors.
With high-quality lenses you benefit optimally from the exceptional performance of this film. However, even when using satisfactory to good lenses, you will notice a very clearly visible improvement in the image results compared to conventional films when using the CMS 20 II.
