Manufacturer's Description:
General film properties:
- Emulsion is coated on PET support
- special coating to improve transport properties in cameras
- Can be used without restrictions both in daylight and in artificial light.
This film is based on aerial film technology. Sensitized to 795nm for infrared-like effect like Ilford SFX. Easy to use. However, the IR effect is only clearly visible with an IR filter that blocks visible light below 715 nanometers (e.g. Heliopan RG 715). Ideal for getting started with IR or trying out IR in the Holga.
When exposed to EI 400/27°, the Rollei Infrared exhibits a very strong S-shaped density curve. This results in a very high-contrast reproduction with very little shadow detail and clearly pronounced tonal value separation in the mid-tones. If this high-contrast reproduction is not desired, we recommend exposing the film 2-3 f-stops more and developing it with a shorter development time.
The Ilford SFX 200 is the right film for photographers who prefer optimal shadow detail, sensitivity utilization and an evenly graduated tonal scale.
