SEND IN FILMS BY POST
We are starting our online service with the most common C-41 development. Choose your products, order the service online and send us your films. On request, the results will be sent back to you or you can pick them up from us.
RETURN FILMS TO THE STORE
Here you can find out about the services we offer when you drop off your films at our store in Hamburg. These cannot yet be booked online, but we are working on being able to accept more and more services via online ordering.
FAQ
We develop on site at our location in Kaiser-Wilhelm-Str. 73 in Hamburg.
What is the difference between developing, scanning and printing?
Developing is the chemical process to get a negative (or slide) from an exposed film in a lightproof roll, which can be further processed in light.
Scanning is digitizing and, if necessary, converting the previously developed film into a positive. This can be ordered in different quality levels.
Printing is the printing out of the previously digitized images. With us this is currently only possible in the 10x15cm format, matt or glossy.
Which films can be developed by you?
We accept the most common formats:
- 35mm (35mm)
- 120 roll film (medium format)
- 4x5" sheet film
And process almost all types of film:
- Color negative (C-41)
- Black and white negative
- Color slide (E-6)
How long do I have to wait for my films?
The different processes have different processing times. The normal times are:
- Color negative (C-41): Up to 2 days
- Black and white negative: Up to 7 days
- Color slide (E-6): Up to 7 days
If the number of orders is particularly high, the processing time may be longer
.What do the different scan sizes mean?
Layoutscan S: The smallest resolution (approx. 1000x1500px) is suitable for digital viewing and sharing, e.g. on social media or websites. The images are delivered in JPG format.
Layoutscan M: The most common resolution (approx. 3000x2000px) is suitable for digital post-processing and for prints up to A4. If you book this option with us, you can re-order prints from the scans for three months at the best price. The images are delivered in TIF format.
Layoutscan XL: The highest possible resolution (approx. 7000x5000px) is suitable for professional image processing and for printing up to A2. The images are delivered in TIF format. For larger quantities, we recommend bringing a hard drive with you.
8K Hi-Res Scans: The ultimate quality and the best control over the results of digitizing. The negatives are photographed with a 100MP PhaseOne camera and the highest resolution macro lens ever built. They are converted in a combination of CaptureOne Pro and Negative Lab Pro. You then have full control over colors and contrasts through processing in raw format. Especially suitable for large prints and professional use. The images are delivered as 16bit TIF and IQ-Raw.
How do I get my scans, my negatives and my prints?
The scans will be sent to you via WeTransfer (by email), which you can then use to download them to your computer, smartphone, etc.
Negatives and prints must be kept in our shop. You will receive an email as soon as they are ready for collection with a date by when you can collect them.
As a rule, we keep the orders for you for one month, after which they are destroyed.
Can I also send my films to you and/or have the negatives sent back?
We now offer the submission service for all C-41 (color negative) processes. Select the service on this page and send us your films.
In the future you will also be able to send in black and white and E6 films.
