Description
Manufacturer's description:
The Kodak recipe "Developer-76" is the classic par excellence.
D-76 was used to develop the great post-war B/W reportages in the West. F19 was used in the East and ID11 in England. All these developers are based on the D-76 recipe from Kodak.
In the latest version of ADOX it has been made more environmentally friendly and safer for the user.
In addition, the solubility has been improved so that it can now be used at temperatures as low as 29°C.
This is the first recipe adjustment in over 50 years.
The results and usability are identical to the old recipe.
In detail:
- the borates have been completely removed and replaced by a non-toxic and biodegradable buffer
- a new biodegradable complexing agent has been added (improvement).
- ADOX CAPTURA has been added so that the powder dissolves faster and does not dust during preparation (improvement)
- Soluble from 29°C so that less cooling is necessary after preparation (improvement, especially relevant for warmer areas)
In this form, D-76 is future-proof and can look forward to the upcoming EU regulations with confidence.
D-76 is a universal, easy-to-use film developer with very good speed utilization and fine grain.
Capacity: up to 16 KB or medium format films with time extension.
With the sale of Kodak's chemical division to Chinese investors in 2020, ADOX has launched a program to "secure the availability" of the legendary Kodak photo chemicals. ADOX is analyzing the formulations and bringing them up to a modern standard. ADOX produces in its own factory in Germany and carries out both research and quality control at the site.
As with all isoascorbate-based developers, you should pay attention to possible clouding and color changes, as these developers can lose activity very quickly. If substances precipitate or a clear yellowing occurs, the developer should no longer be used.
