Description
Manufacturer's Description:
FX-39 is a legend.
For 40 years, Geoffrey Crawley has recreated and further developed the most diverse recipes in order to deliver this masterpiece in the heyday of analogue photography.
FX-39 is based on Willi Beutler's Neofin Rot, but has been improved in many ways. ADOX's recipe has been further developed for around 10 years.
FX-39 has a balancing effect, works very detailed and sharp with excellent resolution and makes very good use of the film speed. The compensating effect can be controlled extremely well over a very wide range via the dilution and can be precisely matched to the motif contrast and the type of film used.
There is basically only one reason not to work exclusively with FX-39 and that is fine grain.
If you only pay strict attention to the finest grain, you will get a finer grain with fine grain developers such as ADOX ATOMAL. FX-39 harmonizes particularly well with all low- and medium-speed films. In the ISO 400/27° class, FX-39 shows the best results with Kodak Tri-X, T-Max 400, Ilford Delta 400 and Neopan 400.
If required, FX-39 can also be used to increase sensitivity by one f-stop (doubling the nominal sensitivity).
FX-39 has been significantly improved in the shelf life of the ADOX concentrate and the production now takes place at ADOX in Switzerland.
The new Type II is more durable than TYPE I with the same development times.
It can now also be transported in colder temperatures, for example on an airplane.
Technical specifications:
Standard dilution: 1+9 “one-shot” application (disposable developer).
High dilution: 1+19 ”one-shot” application (disposable developer) to increase leveling ability while increasing development time by 75%. Here, the sensitivity utilization decreases somewhat. You can therefore “swap” sensitivity for compensatory capacity within limits.
